The Fatima centenary is a major moment for the Church in England and Wales

This is an article which appeared in the Catholic Herald “Comments & Blogs” section on the preparations being made by WAF England and Wales for the Centenary year of the Fatima apparitions, that is next year, 2017.

D0081598

It gives information about the proposed Vistitation programme for the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the relics of Blessed Jacinta and Francisco, which will be taking place in Cathedrals and churches aroudn the country next year.

It also mentions the letter written to WAF England and Wales national president, Timothy Tindal-Robertson, dated October 31, 2014, in which Bishop Mark O’Toole of Plymouth approved of the World Apostolate of Fatima England and Wales, saying he was, “particularly pleased to be able to affirm the work that you are doing to promote the regular saying of the Rosary, particularly in family life … I will continue to pray for the success of the World Apostolate of Fatima in this country. Thank you for all that you do”.

Likewise, the “Day with Our Lady of Fatima” at St Francis of Assisi church in Handsworth, Birmingham, on Saturday June 4, when Bishop Robert Byrne will preside, is mentioned, as is the Fatima weekend is scheduled for June 10-12 at Pantasaph Friary in North Wales. It also highlights the WAF National Pilgrimage to Fatima, which flies from Heathrow, and for which places are still available, which takes place between July 7 and July 14, with Fr Gerard Kelly as Spiritual Director, Timothy Tindal-Robertson as Leader, and Mike Daley as Pilgrimage organiser.

EWTN’s The Message of Fatima

The Message of Fatima – A new 5 part docudrama from EWTN

We are now working on a new docudrama for EWTN which will be broadcast to coincide with the one-hundredth anniversary of the apparitions during 1917. It’s a very ambitious task with 5 episodes + a one off special.

Also we are very happy to be working with a local Fatima Folk group called Casa do Povo who will provide the actors. Included above is a shot of the actors who will play the seers.

Apparitions of Our Lady and Angels are very rare and when they do appear its usually at a time of great danger. The twentieth century as a whole was a time of great calamity and destruction. It is clear that apparitions of Our Lady were warnings for humanity, she said that the war (World War I) would soon end but that an even greater one would break out in the reign of Pope Pius XI if man did not stop offending God. The prophecies of Fatima seem to cover all the calamitous events for the following 100 years, wars, Communism, impurity etc. I wonder whether there is yet something even more terrible to happen, perhaps to coincide with the centenary?

These apparitions are known as private revelations but the Church has ruled that they are authentic. It’s up to us to live our faith and believe. Public revelation of course comes to us through the Old and New Testament, and the deposit of faith in Tradition via Catholic Church.

I hope this docudrama will help a little in task of bringing Our Lady’s message to as many people as possible. Especially the First Five Saturdays devotion which is being ignored by so many Catholics. The message of Fatima is very relevant today, with so many blasphemies being committed against Our Lord and against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Our Lady said to Jacinta that more people go to Hell for sins of impurity than for any other reason. The modern media, TV, film and the Internet is jam-packed with impurity.

I need your prayers for this project; so please if you find a spare second or two remember me, here is angel’s prayer from the apparitions at Fatima in 1916.

“My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love you!

I beg pardon of You for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You.”
